The Baltimore-based Abell Foundation recently issued a report revealing that Baltimore homeowners can lose their homes for as little as $250 in unpaid property taxes. In contrast, in Washington, D.C., only 40 miles away, the threshold for triggering a tax lien sale is $2,500.
