Panelist, Calling Out Sexual Harassment in Housing: Fair Housing Protections for Tenants and Resources for Advocates

Catherine Bendor is a Special Litigation Counsel in the Housing and Civil Enforcement Section of the Civil Rights Division at the U.S. Department of Justice. In this role, she supervises federal court litigation and investigations under the Fair Housing Act and other federal laws. Ms. Bendor has litigated numerous cases challenging various types of housing discrimination, including sexual harassment in housing, and tried the Civil Rights Division’s first-ever jury trial in a pattern or practice lawsuit challenging sexual harassment by a landlord. Ms. Bendor previously served as the Legal Director of the National Law Center on Homelessness & Poverty and has over 25 years of experience working to protect and advance individuals’ civil and constitutional rights.
