Appointed in March 2022, Judge Ana de la Hoz Hernandez serves on the District Court of Maryland for Baltimore City. A dedicated advocate for justice and equity, she brings a wealth of experience from her prior role as an Assistant Public Defender in the felony trial unit in Baltimore City. Judge Hernandez is an active member of the Maryland Judiciary’s Court Access and Community Relations Committee, where she works to strengthen public trust and accessibility in the legal system.

Born in Venezuela, Judge Hernandez holds degrees from Florida International University (A.A.), the University of Florida (B.A.), and the University of Miami School of Law (J.D.). She is admitted to the Maryland Bar and is a member of both the Maryland State Bar Association and the Baltimore City Bar Association.
