Honorable Syeetha Hampton El serves as the Executive Administrative Law Judge and Deputy Director of Operations at the Maryland Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH). In this leadership role, she oversees operational functions and ensures the efficient management of administrative hearings across the state.

Judge Hampton-El brings a wealth of legal experience to her position. She earned her Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and completed her undergraduate studies at Johnson C. Smith University. Her legal career includes serving as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Baltimore City, where she prosecuted a range of cases. She also held the position of Senior Family Advocacy Attorney at the Green & Healthy Homes Initiative, focusing on legal issues related to housing and family welfare. Additionally, she served as the Director of Government Affairs at the Maryland Multi-Housing Association, advocating for policies affecting the housing industry.

Beyond her professional duties, Judge Hampton-El is actively involved in the legal community. She is a member of several bar associations, including the Maryland State Bar Association, the Monumental City Bar Association, and the Alliance of Black Women Attorneys. Her commitment to ethical practice is further demonstrated by her service on the Attorney Grievance Commission’s Peer Review Committee
