Howard Shrum is a commercial airline Boeing 787 First Officer based in Baltimore, Maryland, with more than three decades of experience in aviation, national security, and defense leadership. A retired U.S. Air Force officer, he served in senior operational and diplomatic roles, including Senior Defense Official and Air Attaché to Bolivia and Chief of Bomber Operations, advising U.S. ambassadors, combatant commands, and Pentagon leadership on national security policy and military operations. His career spans global flight operations, strategic planning, and interagency coordination at the highest levels of government. Mr. Shrum holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Oklahoma and is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy. He brings a practitioner’s perspective on national security, governance, and the rule of law.
