Jennifer E.S. Weil is a Supervising Attorney for the Eviction Prevention Program at Community Legal Services, where she leads a team providing direct representation to tenants facing eviction and housing subsidy terminations in Montgomery County, Maryland.
Before joining CLS, Jen spent many years at Maryland Legal Aid, where she served as a Staff Attorney, Senior Attorney, and Supervising Attorney in the Midwestern Office. In that role, she represented low-income clients across Frederick, Washington, and Carroll Counties in a wide range of civil legal matters, with a longstanding focus on housing and landlord-tenant law.
Jen has dedicated most of her legal career to tenant advocacy and housing issues. After law school, she began her career at Maryland Legal Aid’s Prince George’s County office and later served as an Assistant County Attorney for Montgomery County, where she represented the Office of Landlord-Tenant Affairs, the Commission on Landlord-Tenant Affairs, and the Office of Human Rights. She also served for many years as a Commissioner on the City of Gaithersburg’s Landlord-Tenant Commission.
Jen earned her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and her B.A. from Haverford College. She lives in Gaithersburg with her husband and three sons.
