Panelist, Broadening the Bench: Legal Service Providers and the Path to Judgeships

Jennifer Katz has served as Governor Moore's Deputy Legal Counsel since January 2023, where she assists with selecting applicants to serve on the Judicial Nominating Commissions and with interviewing and vetting judicial applicants. Prior to that, she was Principal Counsel to the Maryland Higher Education Commission and Senior Assistant Attorney General in the Civil Litigation Division of the Attorney General's Office. She clerked for the Honorable Catherine Blake on the US District Court for the District of Maryland, and the Honorable Diana Gribbon Motz on the US Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.
