Jennifer Mercer is a Staff Attorney at the Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland (PBRC), where she has been serving since 2021. In her role with the Courtroom Advocacy Project (CAP), she staffs limited-scope, courthouse-based pro bono clinics for tenants and consumers in Baltimore County and Baltimore City. Jennifer also recruits and mentors volunteer attorneys, providing guidance and support to enhance their advocacy efforts.
A lifelong Marylander, Jennifer grew up in Lutherville and holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), where she majored in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on women’s issues and law. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland School of Law. Prior to joining PBRC, Jennifer spent nearly five years at the Women’s Law Center of Maryland, representing survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual assault in protective order cases.
Outside of her legal work, Jennifer is an avid Ravens fan and enjoys fishing, camping, rock music, weightlifting, cooking, and craft beer. Her commitment to justice and community empowerment is evident in her hands-on approach to legal advocacy and mentorship.
