Jennifer A. Mercer is a Staff Attorney at Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland, where she has served since 2021 providing legal representation to indigent tenants facing eviction. She regularly appears before the District Court of Maryland in Baltimore County and Baltimore City representing English- and Spanish-speaking clients. Her work also includes state-level legislative advocacy in coalition with fellow legal services providers and allied organizations. She further enjoys the privilege of mentoring and training her colleagues and community partners in her areas of expertise. Prior to starting at PBRC, she worked as a Staff Attorney for the Protective Order Advocacy and Representation Project of the Women’s Law Center of Maryland from 2016 to 2021. She is a devoted advocate for women’s rights, serving in a volunteer capacity as the Legislative Director of Reproductive Justice Maryland. She is a 2012 graduate of UMBC and a 2015 graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law. She was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 2015. Outside of the courthouse and the State House, she can be found lifting weights, gardening, fishing, reading, or cheering on Baltimore sports teams.
