Moderator, Growing Leadership from Within: How to Attract, Retain, and Value Team Members

Jennifer van Dulmen is the Deputy Director of Community Legal Aid in Central Northeast Ohio. In this role, she oversees all client services and works to create innovative delivery models that are responsive to client and community needs. She leads the organization’s training committee, serves as liaison to the statewide legal aid Family Law Task Force, and sits on the boards of the Committee on Regional Training (CORT) and the Ohio Training and Advisory Committee (OTAC). Prior to being named Deputy Director, Jennifer served as the Managing Attorney for the Volunteer Legal Services Program (VLSP) (2007-2017), the Family Law Team (2015-2017), and the HelpLine (2011-2014). Before coming to Legal Aid, Jennifer was in private practice and served as a CASA guardian ad litem. She has taught at Kent State University and at high school. In addition to her role at Legal Aid, Jennifer currently serves on the Akron Bar Association’s Board of Trustees. In the past, she has served in leadership positions at the local, state, and national level. She most recently concluded service on the American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on Pro Bono and Public Service. She has been the president of both the National Association of Pro Bono Professionals (NAPBPro) and the Portage County Bar Association, as well as chairing the pro bono committees of the Trumbull County and Akron Bar Associations.
