Mr. Jonathan Kaplan is a retired government attorney who spent 15 years litigating immigration cases for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Office of the Principal Legal Advisor. His prior government service includes positions with the U.S. Department of Justice and the Department of Transportation. He currently serves as counsel for Conservation X Labs, representing Afghan asylum seekers, and taught Political Science for three years at Frederick Community College. Since retirement, he has volunteered with MILAP, the DC Bar Immigration Legal Advice & Referral Clinic, the Montgomery County Bar Foundation, and FCC Pro Bono Day. He graduated from Duke University (B.A. Political Science and History) in 1987 and Washington University School of Law (J.D.) in 1990.
