Amica Center for Immigrant Rights Detained Adult Program

PanelistSafe City Baltimore: A Model for Publicly Funded Coordinated Legal Services for Immigrants

Kelly Rojas joined the Amica Center for Immigrant Rights in 2016 and co-directs Amica Center’s Detained Adult Program. The Detained Adult Program brings together 40+ attorneys, paralegals, case managers and administrative staff working to provide people who are detained with legal support in their immigration cases, through pro bono placement and direct representation with accompanying social services wherever possible - and support navigating their cases unrepresented in a system stacked against them when not.
Prior to joining Amica Center, Kelly worked as an associate attorney in private practice at an immigration law firm representing adults and children in their immigration proceedings. Prior to law school, Kelly worked and volunteered at CARECEN DC, as an immigration paralegal, citizenship tutor, receptionist and coordinator of the organization’s community support services program. She earned her JD with high honors at the George Washington University Law School and undergraduate degree at American University.
