Monica Mananzan is a managing attorney at Amica Center for Immigrant Rights (formerly known as Capital Area Immigrant Rights Coalition), where she maintains an active docket of detained and non-detained immigrant cases before the immigration courts, Board of Immigration Appeals, and USCIS. She mentors Amica Center staff and pro bono attorneys and conducts trainings on humanitarian-based immigration reliefs and procedural remedies. She is a member of Law360's Immigration Editorial Advisory Board. Prior to joining Amica Center, she was the VAWA attorney at Esperanza Center (Catholic Charities of Baltimore). Born, raised, and educated in the Philippines, her passion for immigration advocacy draws from her own immigrant experience.
