Peter J. Spann is a Staff Attorney at Community Legal Services, where he represents low-income clients in the Anne Arundel County District Courts. He earned his J.D. from American University Washington College of Law and his Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from Howard University School of Divinity, bringing a multidisciplinary approach that integrates legal advocacy with a deep commitment to community empowerment. In his current role, Peter regularly provides day-of-hearing representation, using those critical moments not only to defend clients’ immediate interests but also to identify broader needs, connect individuals to supportive resources, and advance more holistic, client-centered outcomes. His work reflects a strong belief that effective lawyering must address both the legal issue at hand and the underlying conditions impacting clients’ lives.
