Panelist, Mentorship Matters! Discussion and Tips for Legal Services Providers

Sara is the Family Law Director at the Women's Law Center of Maryland (WLC), where she supervises a team of four attorneys and three legal advocates. Sara has been with the WLC since 2018, when she started as a staff attorney in the organization's divorce and custody project. During that time, Sara benefited from the guidance and mentorship of several more experienced family law attorneys, both inside and outside of the organization. In 2023, when Sara was asked to move into a leadership position at the WLC, she jumped at the chance, excited to share her knowledge and experience with newer staff members. In addition to mentoring and supporting staff attorneys and non-attorney staff, Sara has worked to expand the WLC's internship program, so that law students have an opportunity to gain experience and mentorship in the field of family law.
