Community Collaborations Foster Sustainable Reentry
Shareese Kess, LCSW-C, CCM, is a Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical, Certified Case Manager and a Licensed Approved Drug and Alcohol Supervisor. Shareese has worked as a Clinical Social Worker for over 23 years and in various settings including, families and children, vulnerable adults, medical Social Work, behavioral health and in recent years, Behavioral health Management & Leadership. Shareese has established healthy working relationships and affiliations with many colleagues and organizations that she continues to promote positive change within the community. Shareese currently services as the proud Chief of Staff for TIME Organization, Inc. which is an accredited Behavioral Health Organization that has been serving the Baltimore city, Baltimore County, Anne Arundel County, Howard, and surrounding communities for over 23 years. TIME Organization, Inc. has three Outpatient Mental Health Clinics that provide wrap around behavioral health support in addition to re-entry programming, school based counseling, psychiatric rehabilitation services and developmental disability support services and housing. Shareese’s current position allows her to collaborate and partner with other community organizations to positively impact the citizens of Maryland. Shareese is a true champion and works tirelessly along with community partners like The Office of The Public Defender, Maryland Office of Homeless Services, Maryland Office of Employment Development, PEERS program, just to name a few to help reduce and ultimately eliminate the opioid crisis; stabilize families; reduce the mass incarceration of black men and end the stigma surrounding mental illness.
As a native of Baltimore City, Shareese is extremely passionate about providing fair opportunities, resources, and needed services for people, despite race, age and sexual orientation, etc. She is an active volunteer to help the homeless population; sits on the Maryland Equitable Justice Collaborative; participates in the Office of The Public Defender’s civil rights division meetings to contribute towards valuable discussions for change. She also participates in outreach on Sundays to provide homeless individuals with mobile showers, food, clothing, resources, and hope. Last but certainly not least Shareese is a mother of 4 children, grandmother of a beautiful and firecracker of a 4 year old granddaughter that is an upcoming Social Worker, and anxiously anticipating her second grandchild this year.
