The Maryland Office of the Public Defender (OPD) seeks a zealous and dedicated litigator to represent juveniles in delinquency matters in Baltimore County, Maryland. The attorney in this position is expected to work independently in managing an active juvenile caseload while simultaneously working in a team-oriented environment focused on a client-centered approach to representation. The projected start date for this position will be in September 12, 2018.

Position Title: Staff Attorney- Maryland Classification: Exempt
Work Schedule: Full-Time Reports to: Director of Services
Position Summary: This position is responsible for the representation of crime victims’ and other duties as assigned by their supervisor and written into their grants.
Primary Duties and Essential Functions:
- Attorney needed to represent crime victims regarding their crime victims’ rights in criminal prosecution
- Attorney will respond to incoming requests for legal assistance
- Complete legal evaluations
- Develop cases
- Conduct outreach activities
- Provide direct legal representation to victims in criminal cases in trial courts as well as on the appellate level
- Other duties as assigned
