This 7-hour pro bono training for attorneys will cover client intake and assessing which chapter to file, preparing and filing the petition, preparing clients for creditors’ meeting, exemptions, reaffirmation agreements, post-filing litigation issues, and practical tips from the bench. Participating attorneys must agree to either accept 1 pro bono chapter 7 bankruptcy case and/or provide brief legal advice in a clinic setting within 1 year of registering. Malpractice insurance is provided to volunteer attorneys.
