Moderator, Closing the Justice Gap through Medical-Legal Partnerships

Catrina C. Aquilino, Esq., a Prince George’s County native, is the Supervising Attorney at Community Legal Services of Prince George’s County, Inc. (CLS). She provides not only mentorship to attorneys, but also actively represents clients as well. Ms. Aquilino’s career demonstrates a commitment to public service to those in need in Prince George’s County. She has interned and clerked for Judges on the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County, served as a Rule 16 student attorney and Panel Attorney for the Office of the Public Defender of Prince George’s County, and interned for CLS during law school. She is a member of the Prince George’s County Bar Association and the Maryland Hispanic Bar Association, having previously served on the Board of Directors for each organization.

Ms. Aquilino is proud to now devote herself full time to serving the community in a position where she has helped survivors of domestic violence in a variety of cases, including but not limited to, family law, domestic violence, tort, and housing cases. Her duties include staffing the Latino Legal Access Project (LLAP), where she meets with up to 16 clients a day, the majority of whom are Spanish speakers. She has occasion to meet with many survivors of domestic violence who are seeking help on a variety of legal issues. She also supervises and mentors new attorneys, both within the organization and volunteers of it, while continuing to serve clients on a daily basis at clinics and through direct representation. Ms. Aquilino is honored to be able to serve the citizens of her home county, and hopes to do so for years to come.
