Board Committees
FINANCE & AUDIT Goals:
- Review and present budget, financial statements and other fiscal information to
Board. - Work with Auditors on reviewing and presenting audit to board.
- Offer guidance on investment vehicles to ensure sustainability of PBRC.
LEGISLATIVE& POLICY Goals:
- Work with staff members on identifying and vetting issues of priority on which PBRC
should take a position. - Respond quickly to requests for support from management on specific legislative or
policy initiatives. - Review and approve requests for endorsements by PBRC of court cases, letters,
rule changes etc. around policies that impact PBRC or its constituents.
FUND DEVELOPMENT Goals:
- Encourage board member involvement in corporate and individual fundraising and
assist with follow-up of requests for corporate support. - Work with Development Director to create fundraising training for the board.
- Report to Board regarding progress and vision for future.
STRATEGIC PLANNING Goals:
- Work with management and staff on setting strategic goals and action items and
mechanism for accountability. - Check in on progress quarterly to analyze accomplishments and determine whether
met goals. - Assist in guiding facilitated strategic planning initiatives.
AWARDS & RECOGNITION Goals:
- Review and select recipients of annual MD Pro Bono Service Awards.
- Assist in identifying volunteers, staff, and board members for other outside awards.
- Work on securing publicity of good works of volunteers
