Estate Planning for Underserved Communities
Estate Planning for Underserved Communities
Room 306: 11:15 AM to 12:30 PM
Estate planning is one of the best tools for preserving wealth but there are certain considerations that have to be accounted for when planning in specific communities. Three communities that this session will highlight are artists, LGBTQ+ individuals, and incarcerated individuals. Each of these communities has unique practical issues that have to be considered when estate planning. Estate planning is a powerful tool for all Marylanders to protect their physical and financial assets, but also to exercise their agency. This session will explore these considerations and best practices to ensure that these communities are empowered to plan for the future.
