Panelist, Democratizing Legal Access: Mapping and Community Justice Workers in Action
Kazeem Anifowoshe joined Mid-Shore Council on Family Violence as their GIS Data Specialist to further develop and expand the mapping project. Initially covering just five service areas, the project rapidly expanded to encompass the entire state of Maryland, aiding numerous clients in transitioning from crisis to self-sufficiency. This initiative provides crucial information on housing, employment, hospitals, as well as maps detailing WiFi access and cell phone coverage. Recently, Kazeem and his team have collaborated with Access 2 Justice MD to create a resource dashboard focused on legal-specific resources and analytical tools. Their goal is to identify gaps and surpluses in services, correlating with case filings to enhance strategic resource allocation.
