Panelist, How To Prevent Family Separation and Keep Them Out of Court

Jessica Maranto is the Lead Parent Advocate for The Office of the Public Defender who brings lived experience and invaluable knowledge to the holistic team of Parental Defense. She has personally navigated institutions, drug court, treatment centers and the child welfare system. As a person in long term recovery, she is able to openly engage with members of the community, build strong relationships and “meet people where they are”. She is a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist, passionate about the work she does and the community she serves.
