Panelist, It Takes All of Us: An Overview of the Maryland OAG’s Community-Based Approach to Combat Hate

Lauren Pruitt, Esq. is the Legal Director for FreeState Justice, Maryland’s only state-wide legal advocacy organization that provides free legal services to improve the lives of LGBTQ+ Marylanders. The legal team provides advice and legal representation for FreeState Justice clients on various civil matters, including name changes, family law, employment, healthcare, housing and public accommodation discrimination matters, estate planning, peace and protection orders, and expungements. Lauren earned her Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Howard University. She is an active member of the Maryland State Bar Association, LGBTQ Bar Association, and the Alliance of Black Women Attorneys of Maryland, Inc.
