Honorable Ada Clark-Edwards is an Associate Judge of the District Court of Maryland for Prince George’s County.  Prior to her appointment, she served as the Chief of the Special Victims and Family Violence Unit for the State’s Attorney’s Office for Prince George’s County, Maryland where she supervised attorneys who specialized in prosecuting cases involving intimate partner violence, sexual assault, child sexual and physical abuse and elder physical abuse.  During her twelve-year tenure as an Assistant State’s Attorney, Judge Clark-Edwards prosecuted a wide range of cases ranging from sexual assaults to homicides. Prior to her return to the State’s Attorney’s Office, she gained experience on a national level working as a Program Manager with the Department of Justice – Office on Violence Against Women, where she managed the development and implementation of collaborative sexual assault and domestic violence programs across the country.

Judge Clark-Edwards currently serves as Chair of the Maryland Judiciary’s Domestic Law Committee- Domestic Violence and Peace Order Subcommittee and Co-Chair of the Prince George’s County Domestic Violence Coordinating Council.  She currently sits on the Maryland Judiciary Judicial Education Subcommittee, the Domestic Law – Legislative Workgroup and the Diversity and Inclusion Education Subcommittee.  Further, she serves as faculty for the Maryland Judicial College and the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges and routinely serves as a mentor and guest speaker at local high schools and colleges.

Judge Clark-Edwards has been the recipient of a number of awards to include the Maryland State Bar Association- Maryland Bar Foundation Award for the Advancement of Professional Competence, Daily Record Top 100 Maryland Women, Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence Criminal Justice Award, Prince George’s County Office of the Sheriff Purple Lights Award and Central High School Outstanding Alumni Award.  Judge Clark-Edwards is a proud graduate of Towson State University and the Catholic University of America – Columbus School of Law.
