Professional Skills Series: Understanding and Advocating for Vulnerable Communities
Remote/VirtualLitigation TrainingEach meeting typically runs from noon to 2 pm, and includes three components: a 75-minute skills training; a 20-minute exercise; and a 20-minute mentoring roundtable, where attendees can bring up litigation and other lawyering questions they’re currently facing (whether related to the presentation topic or not), and get input from the group. Experienced litigators will be present during the entire event.

The Tenant Justice Program provides free legal representation to tenants at risk of eviction in Baltimore City and Baltimore County. They also work to provide increased housing stability for our clients through individual connections to resources and advice on how to meet financial obligations. TJP engages in systemic advocacy to help level the playing field for all tenants state-wide.
Representatives from TJP will be providing an overview of state and local laws impacting tenants, tenants’ rights, and effective strategies for working with landlords, accessing additional supports, and navigating the court system. Time will be reserved for individual questions and advice.
