Dr. Caroline Long holds a Ph.D. and LCSW-C designation, serving as an Associate Professor and Chair of the Families and Children department at the School of Social Work, University of Maryland. With an extensive background in the field, Dr. Long has accumulated over 30 years of practical experience in social work. She brings valuable insights to her research and teaching, focusing on significant subjects such as child maltreatment, parental incarceration, international social work, and prenatal substance exposure. Previously, Dr. Long directed a university social work education program, aiding aspiring and existing public child welfare employees, and also managed a licensed private adoption agency. Her dedication and expertise have made her a prominent figure in the field of social work, driving impactful advancements in understanding and addressing critical societal issues.
