Moderator, A New Alternative to Guardianship: Supported Decision-Making

Nisa Subasinghe staffs the Maryland Judicial Council’s Domestic Law Committee and several of its work groups including the Guardianship & Vulnerable Adults Work Group, which is tasked with implementing best practices in guardianship cases and addressing emerging issues that affect persons under guardianship and other vulnerable adults. Prior to joining the Maryland Judiciary, Ms. Subasinghe served as a victim rights advocate. She worked with child, youth, and adult survivors of crime and served as a training and technical assistance provider for federal, tribal, state, and local criminal justice practitioners, victim advocates, and other professionals. She is a graduate of The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law.
