Open to volunteer lawyers, law students, and JDs, this training covers how to register copyrights for different types of artists, including visual artists and musicians; fringe rights and issues associated with registering copyrights; and issue spotting while assisting artists with copyright registration.

Attorneys taking the training must be licensed to practice in Maryland and agree to accept a volunteer opportunity (either a taking a case or staffing the Art Law Clinic) from Maryland Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts (MDVLA) within 1 year of registering. Law Students and JDs taking the training must agree to shadow a staffing attorney at one Art Law Clinic within 1 year of registering.
