Panelist, Resolving Student Loan Debt Inside and Outside of Bankruptcy

Amy Hennen serves as the Assistant Commissioner for Policy and the Maryland Student Loan Ombudsman at the Office of Financial Regulation where she advises the Commissioner on . Prior to joining the Office, Amy managed the advocacy, workforce, housing, and consumer initiatives for the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service. In her work, she assisted borrowers facing a variety of debts, including student loan debt. Prior to her work in nonprofits, Amy was a staff attorney at a debt collection law firm and at a debt settlement law firm. In 2022, Amy received the Lawyer of the Year Award from the Government & Public Interest Lawyers' Committee of the Bar Association of Baltimore City. Amy holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law and has a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Denver.
