TJP Tenant Know Your Rights – Baltimore City
Enoch Pratt Free Library-Hampden Branch 3641 Falls Road, Baltimore, MD, United StatesClinicsPro Bono Resource of Maryland’s Tenant Justice Program (TJP) is partnering with Enoch Pratt Free Library for a series of programs supporting renter/tenant rights. The Tenant Justice Program provides free legal representation to tenants at risk of eviction in Baltimore City and Baltimore County. They also work to provide increased housing stability for our clients through individual connections to resources and advice on how to meet financial obligations. TJP engages in systemic advocacy to help level the playing field for all tenants state-wide.
Representatives from TJP will be providing an overview of state and local laws impacting tenants, tenants’ rights, and effective strategies for working with landlords, accessing additional supports, and navigating the court system. Time will be reserved for individual questions and advice.

CAP Hotline Volunteer Training: Housing and Consumer Law Primer
Live Webinar MDConsumer Protection TrainingThis training will provide an overview of the housing and consumer issues facing low-income individuals and families in Maryland, the court processes they encounter related to evictions and affidavit judgment collection actions and an overview of the applicable law. The training will prepare volunteers to assist hotline callers by providing guidance and referrals. The training will also equip volunteers with the knowledge and awareness they need to get the most out of courtroom observations.
