Moderator, How To Prevent Family Separation and Keep Them Out of Court

Judge Cathy Hollenberg Serrette has served as an associate judge in the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County since 2003 and is a member of the Judicial Council’s Committee on Equal Justice and the Supreme Court’s Standing Committee on Pro Bono Legal Services.  She chairs the Judicial Council's Domestic Law Committee and serves as a Commissioner on Maryland’s Access to Justice Commission. Judge Serrette heads Prince George's County's Model Court, co-chairs the Bridge from Y.E.S. Committee, established to create a housing complex and wrap-around service center for young adults aging out of foster care, chaired the Task Force to Establish the Prince George’s County Family Justice Center, and  co-founded the annual re-entry conference at the MD Correctional Institution for Women.  Judge Serrette received a Bachelor of Science degree, Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh, a J.D. from George Washington University, an LL.M. in International Legal Studies from American University School of Law and is an Advanced Science and Technology Adjudication fellow.
