Kate Sugarman has been a family physician ever since graduating in 1991 from the Montefiore Hospital program in social medicine. She practices in Washington DC and also is an HIV physician. For years she has been documenting scars of torture to assist people in their asylum cases. For the past few years she has been active locally and nationally in Doctors for Camp Closure. She has recently increased her activism in climate justice and reproductive rights.
