Maryland Legislative Update for Veterans

Join members of the Maryland State Bar Association’s Veterans and Military Law Section, the Maryland Military Coalition, and the Maryland Military Officers Association of America, as they discuss significant and pending changes to federal and state legislation affecting veterans and service members.  Topics discussed will include The Major Richard Star Act (veterans' disability compensation and retired pay or combat-related special compensation); The Stop CoPay Overpay Act (limits copays for outpatient visits for mental health or behavioral health); and a 4.6% pay raise in the NDAA. There will also be an overview of recent settlements against the Army, Navy and Air Force related to PTSD, TBI and OBH related discharges. There is also pending federal legislation for veterans’ family members that will be discussed. Come prepared for an informative and relevant presentation!
