Two experienced employment lawyers will provide a training on risks and best practices to a mixed group of a) leaders of small nonprofits and b) volunteer lawyers. The initial presentation will include an open Q/A session for nonprofit employers. After the initial presentation, nonprofit attendees will leave, and the trainers will facilitate a follow-up discussion and Q/A from the volunteer lawyers.

This training is intended for lawyers who are admitted to practice before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Maryland and willing to accept pro bono Chapter 7 bankruptcy cases. Brett Weiss of the Weiss Law Group will review the forms and procedures for filing the chapter 7 case. John Gabel of Community Legal Services of Prince George's County will cover contested matters and special procedures for handling the pro bono case.
