Medical Malpractice for Active Duty and Veterans
Friday, June 17, 2022 from 3:15 PM to 4:45 PM | Room 207
The 2020 National Defense Authorization Act created an administrative procedure by which military servicemembers can sue the United States for the medical malpractice of military health care providers. A member of the Defense Health Agency will be speaking about this brand new right for servicemembers and the new review board that will be hearing the claims. In addition, veterans’ law practitioners will speak about their experience filing veterans’ benefits claims for medical malpractice by VA health care providers. The panelists can shed light on how the new military procedures and standards may resemble or differ from those of the VA.
